I follow a number of successful entrepreneurs and their wisdom and expertise has helped Susie and I accelerate the growth of our business, achieve more with less, and be able reach and help more people.
Brendon Burchard is one of these entrepreneurs and every 3-6 months I sit and review 3 key questions that Brendon asked us to answer as part of creating your “Motivation Manifesto”. I wanted to share these 3 questions with you as I’ve found them very helpfully in defining what my focus is, where and how I wish to spend my time, right down to what my ideal day looks and feels like. I continuously refer back to my answers refining them every 3-6 months gaining further awareness and clarity.
Staying on track for your best year yet requires you to get very clear on how well you are going to navigate your stress day-to-day, moment to moment. All too often its the stress and pressure of work, relationships, family life and personal responsibilities that drain your energy and good intentions.
We all know that a delicious life, rich in meaning and purpose comes from being clear on our core values and making choices daily that align ourselves to our core values. When you are clear on what your core values are it’s a lot easier to identify your priorities, set clear and achievable goals and have clear boundaries for were and how you spend your energy, time and money!
A great example of this is the core values I hold around my health and well being that are reflected in my food and nutritional choices and budget! It became clear that my priorities where to kerb expenditure in other areas rather than comprising my energy and health by spending less on cheaper nutrient deficient foods.
It’s a priority I often find myself coaching my clients on! It can take a while for people to see how in-congruent their choices are with what they say is of utmost value and importance to them.
So with this in mind, I invite you to take 30 minutes in a quiet undisturbed environment to answer the following three questions. There is no right or wrong just simply an opportunity for you to get clear on what its going to take to make 2015 your best year yet!
- What will I no longer accept in my life?
Will you no longer accept feeling tired, unhealthy, overweight, financially “just getting bye” frustrated, sad, hurt, angry, bitter, resentful, a critical judge of yourself and others, Will you no longer accept how certain others treat you or how you treat and talk to yourself? Think of all the things you are fed up with in your life and just write about them and state why you no longer want those things to be tolerated in your life
- What should life really be like for me?
What would your day look and feel like? Describe exactly what you want your ideal day to be like. Write about how you would feel, what you stand for, what you will create and contribute, how you will treat other people. What routines or practices you would enact everyday. Just describe in as much detail as possible what you want to feel, give, experience in life on a consistent basis.
- What am I committed to making happen to create my ideal life.
What are you willing to STOP doing? What are you willing to START doing and KEEP doing as long as possible until you succeed. Write about things you will learn and when, what steps you’ll take, who you will approach for help, what you will be disciplined in doing in order to create your ideal life?
Let me know how these 3 questions felt for you or post any questions here on the Energy Coaching Institute Facebook page I’d love to hear what you experience.
